The Congress of the South 40 acts as the programming body for students living in WashU residential housing. We strive to improve the life of residents by providing a variety of ways for them to participate in their residential areas, play a leadership role on campus and get involved in the Wash U and St. Louis communities. Congress also acts as the students’ representative to the administration by presenting student input into the operation of our Residential areas. Our goal is to support the efforts of Residential Life to create a community where students can live, learn and lead.
To create an engaging and inclusive environment for residents of WashU housing through the use of advocacy and programming, enabling them to find a place within their residential community and become well-rounded and healthy individuals
