The Congress of the South 40 exists to enhance the social and living environment of the South 40, promote student involvement in the Residential Colleges, ensure that student opinion is represented adequately to the Washington University administration, and facilitate and encourage student development.

Wednesday 11/9 from 7-9 pm in Bear's Den we are selling tickets to the St. Louis Blues vs. Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Game AND tickets to a tour of Monet's Water Lilies (plus LUNCH,) currently on special exhibit at the St. Louis Art Museum.


Tickets for the Blues are $10 - the game is Thurs 11/10 at 7 pm and we'll be taking the metro at 6 pm. We are ALMOST SOLD OUT!


Tickets for Lunch & Lilies are $5 - Saturday 11/12 - lunch is catered by Pappy's BBQ and will include vegetarian options as well as GOOEY BUTTER CAKE at 12:30-1:30 pm in Ursa's Fireside, followed by the tour. (If we have any tickets left tonight, they will be on sale Thursday from 7-9 pm.)

Get ready for a week of fun events, brought to you by CS40 and the College Councils!

Tuesday, October 25th Fall Speaker

you’re invited to Hit RECord at the Movies with Joseph Gordon-Levitt! Pop some pop-corn, dim the lights and join Joe for an evening of original
short-films, live performance, collaborative RECording and more at Graham Chapel. Not only will it be a night of movie watching, it’ll be a night of movie making! So don’t forget your camera. Are we RECording?

AUDIENCE MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING SOMETHING TO RECORD THE VIDEO/AUDIO OF THE SHOW.

Doors open at 5:30. Show starts at 6:00.
Free Admission! (but need a ticket to get into Graham Chapel)

Saturday, October 29th Safe Trick or Treat

Safe Trick or Treat is a Campus Y and CS40 initiative that takes families who live in neighborhoods that might not be the safest to trick-or-treat in and brings them to the 40 to go trick-or-treating around the halls. It will be from 1-3 pm throughout the South 40. Children and families will start at Ursa’s and will be guided throughout the halls.

Sunday, October 30th Fall Fair

Join us 2-4 pm on the Swamp for pumpkin decorating, funnel cakes, popcorn, games and snacks and more!

Friday, November 4th South 40 Formal

Do you love DANCING?? MUSIC?? How about FREE FOOD and CANDY, RAFFLES, and other SURPRISES???  Then, CS40 Formal is for YOU!!!!
ALL STUDENTS are welcome to come!! Dress is semi-formal or cocktail attire! Whatever makes you happy!
Tickets are $5 and will be sold in Bear's Den: Tuesday Nov. 1st-Thursday Nov 3rd-> 6-8pm; Friday November 4th-> 6-7pm (Last minute Tickets)

We are bringing everyone to the Peabody Opera House in buses (& back):
Leaving from Brookings at 7:30pm---So BE THERE!!!
